The people of Ede, Osun State were today thrown into mourning as a pregnant woman; Lateefat Odediran was allegedly pummelled to death by another lady, Tawakalitu Musibau over a minor domestic issue.It was gathered that the deceased got into a heated argument with Tawakalitu which later degenerated into a fight that led to the death of the pregnant woman – a situation that caused tension in the community as residents mourned the deceased and her 8-month-old unborn child.
Lateefat who reportedly gave up the ghost at a private clinic 40 minutes after she was rushed there, was said to have suffered complications from the injuries she sustained during the fight.
Tawakalitu has since been arrested and investigation has commenced on the matter. Police Public Relation Officer for the Osun State Police Command, Mrs Folasade Odoro who confirmed the incident, promised comprehensive investigation and assured that justice would be done in the matter.
Meanwhile, Lateefat’s remains has been deposited at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, (LTH) in Osogbo, the state capital for autopsy.
