Bayern Munich wins German Bundesliga with 6 games to go

Boys dey vex: Bayern Munich wins German Bundesliga with 6 games to go
Bayern Munich made history in Germany on Saturday when Bastian Schweinsteiger’s backheel flick off a crossing pass from Philipp Lahm gave the club from Bavaria its 23rd title with six games left in the season.
It is the earliest any club has won the Bundesliga title in the league’s 50-year history and ended Borussia Dortmund’s two-year run as league champions. Schweinsteiger scored the only goal of the game and it was enough for the victory at Eintracht Frankfurt.
“It is a fantastic moment, and I am winning a league title after 23 years again,” Coach Jupp Heynckes, who guided Munich to the championship in 1989 and 1990 during his first stint as coach, told Reuters. “My players are now harvesting all the work they put in throughout the year. They put into action exactly what I told them.”
In a strange twist, Heynckes will be replaced at the end of the season by the former coach of Barcelona, Pep Guardiola.
