The Board of the Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday in Abuja dissolved some of its standing committees.
This is contained in a communiqué issued at the end
of its meeting which was read to newsmen by Emeka Inyama, the Chairman,
Communique Drafting Committee.
Inyama said the dissolution of some of the committees
was in line with the NFF’s statutes which stipulated that they should
be re-constituted after two years.
The affected committees included the Technical led by
Christopher Green, Finance chaired by Dr Shehu Adamu and the Olaleye
Adepoju-led Disciplinary Committee.
Inyama said the board had also set up an ad hoc committee to be chaired by the NFF First Vice President, Mike Umeh.
According to him, the ad-hoc committee is saddled
with the responsibility of organising fund-raising dinners for the Super
Eagles participation in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by
South Africa.
“Funds raised at these dinners will complement the
expected grant from the Federal Government for the prosecution of the
Super Eagles’ campaign.”
Speaking on its forthcoming Annual General Assembly
slated for December 13, he said the board had chosen Port Harcourt for
the event.
“The NFA chairman had a meeting with the zonal
coordinators last night (Tuesday night) and all matters have been
resolved regarding the AGA holding in Port Harcourt.”
