Police arrest Lagos lawyer for allegedly abusing maid

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a lawyer, over alleged incessant abuse on her housemaid.

The arrest of the lawyer identified as Tolu Ola, followed directive from the command boss, Imohimi Edgal, upon seeing picture of the victim with a deep cut on her fore head, on the internet.

Although the reason for which the injury was inflicted on the 15-year-old maid could not be immediately ascertained as the lawyer was still being interrogated as at press time.

But the command’s Public Relation’s Officer, Chile Oti, a Superintendent of Police, SP confirmed the lawyer’s arrest.

He said: “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi , has arrested one Tolu Olaoye,of No 5 El Shaddai crescent near Unique estate Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos, a Lawyer, for incessant abuse of her house help, one Abigail Opebiyi,,15 years old.

“The CP who is known for his prompt actions on all issues concerning domestic violence and abuse was moved with compassion on seeing the picture of the victim trending on the internet with a deep inflicted on her by the said female lawyer .

He immediately ordered operatives of the command to go rescue the victim and fish out the suspect.

This order was carried out diligently and the suspect is now undergoing interrogation at the end of which the case will be charged to court on Monday December 18,2017.”
