Obuh demands Flying Eagles fight back

Coach John Obuh has charged the Flying Eagles to show more fighting spirit in their next game at the Toulon International Tournament after they lost 2-0 to defending champions Mexico on Wednesday.
“We have to buckle up as individuals and as a team after this loss,” challenged Obuh.
“We should not allow this defeat to weigh us down, rather we should show a better character by our next game.”
On Sunday, the Nigeria U20s will battle Belgium, who Obuh and the team watched leading Brazil 1-0 by half time in the second game of Group B.

Ex-minister’s relation accused of killing live-in lover

A relation of a former Minister of Interior, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho (retd.), has been accused of killing his live-in lover.
The suspect, George Iheanacho, allegedly killed his 32-year-old partner, Regina James, the mother of his three children – two boys and a girl.
George was said to have killed Regina in their residence at 3, Calvary Street, Iyana Isasi, Lagos-Badagry Expressway in late April, 2013.
Metro learnt that the accused, who worked in the ex-minister’s company, Genesis Worldwide Shipping Company, Apapa, on the fateful day, accused Regina, who had lived with him for six years, of unfaithfulness.
It was further learnt that subsequent argument over the accusation led to the suspect beating up Regina and in the process, she fell into a coma.

Court jails banker five years for fraud

 
An Oredo Magistrate’s Court, Benin, Edo State, has sentenced an employee of United Bank for Africa, Osasere Osemwengie, to five years imprisonment, without an option of fine.
Osemwengie, according to police charges, defrauded unsuspecting bank customers of millions of naira under the guise of helping them to invest in UBA.
Chief Magistrate Peter Edo-Asemota, said, “Osemwengie deserves to be kept away from other members of the society for a while for pains he has caused his numerous customers and the larger society.
“Osemwengie employed his knowledge in banking to perpetuate fraud .”
Osemwengie was initially arraigned before the court on 23 counts, but the  prosecution, led by ASP Samuel Ogah, had dropped 22 of the charges owing to lack of evidence.
The only count that survived was count 17, “That you, Osasere Osemwengie, on August 24, September 17 and November 19, 2009, at UBA, Airport Road, Benin, forged and signed UBA branch certificates of
deposit, knowing same to be false.”
The offence, he said, contravened section 467(2) (b) (j) and (i) of the Criminal Code.

Eagles land in Houston without Onazi

The Super Eagles left Germany for Houston, USA without Ogenyi Onazi as planned. Instead, the player who won the Coppa Italia with his club Lazio on Sunday left for the venue from Lagos on Tuesday.
The Nigeria Football Federation had officially announced that the player was on his way to Germany on Monday just as Efe Ambrose who also won the Scottish Cup with Celtic on Sunday but the midfielder headed to Nigeria instead of Germany as expected.

A nine-man  gang attacked music artiste, Wasiu Alabi, aka Pasuma, in Ahmadiyya end of Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Monday night.
The robbers snatched Pasuma’s Range Rover Sports Utility Vehicle with number plate Lagos, MUS 830AP, and dispossessed him of other valuables.

Chinese baby flushed down a toilet; mother claims baby fell into the toilet after she gave birth

The mother of the newborn baby boy flushed down a toilet in China watched in secret as rescuers plucked him alive from a sewer pipe.

The 22-year-old woman is believed to have raised the initial alarm but only confessed to police after they searched her rented room and found toys and blood-stained toilet paper, the Chinese state news agency reported.

Bus Preacher Beaten To Coma In Lagos After Condoms Fall From Bible

A bus preacher was almost lynched on Saturday morning at Toyota Bus stop, in front of the popular Ladipo Spare parts market, when some condoms allegedly fell out of his bible as he preached the ‘Word of God’. A source gathered that the self acclaimed Man of God was dragged out of the commercial bus and beaten into a pulp before he was rescued by some policemen.
According to information made available to our source, the Pastor had embarked on his journey from Apapa and proceeded to preach to the people on the bus, using very strong words like “If you wear trouser you’ll go to hell! The Devil invented Make up! Weave-on is from Marine Kingdom! If you have pre-marital sèx you will burn in hell and your skin will peel!” It was learnt that the people in the bus were so moved and some started falling under the anointing. According to an eye witness, Mr. John Mbakogu, who was on his way to his shop at Ladipo, “People were just falling as he was laying hands.

Native Doctor and Quack Nurses Arrested For Poisoning 23 Pregnant Girls In Delta

 
Not less than 23 pregnant ladies have met their untimely deaths after drinking an herbal abortion drugs from a native doctor to terminate their pregnancies.
This happened at an illegal abortion clinic in Delta state.
Leadership reports Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, the state police commissioner, who confirmed the discovering of the illegal home, said no fewer than 23 females whose unwanted pregnancies were terminated, died after drinking the concoction.
He explained that the detectives arrested the operators who were mainly native doctors and quack nurses and upon interrogation, confessed to the crime.
The home is located around Ugborikoko in Uvwie local government area.
The suspects claimed they were trained in traditional medicine, especially in the use of concoction to terminate unwanted pregnancies.
