Lagbaja breaks silence over ‘online picture, Ego’s exit

Few months after a picture  which claimed to be the facial identity of Bisade Ologunde popularly known as Lagbaja circulated online, the man behind the mask has decided to break his silence over the said picture.
Lagbaja cleared the air, while unveiling his latest studio effort and ninth album titled ” 200 Million Mumu; The Bitter Truth”, at his event outfit, Motherlan, in Opebi, Lagos, last week.
Reacting for the first time since the picture hit the internet, Lagbaja said, “people are very funny, this same picture has been put on internet before now with a similar story. They should know that Lagbaja is much older than the person there and I don’t have bald-head, may be by the time I have bald-head, he will look much like me.”
Although, the masked saxophonist did not dismiss the possibility of his facial identity being revealed someday, he however noted  that it would be after he has kicked the bucket. ‘People will have the opportunity to see my face when I’m gone,” he said
Lagbaja also seized the opportunity offered by the informal gathering to address some pertinent issues bothering on his  career and personality.
According to him, what he gains by not talking about his personal life on the pages of newspapers is his priceless freedom.
“Lagbaja is a very simple person, he said, adding “I don’t want to live a life of a celebrity. There are certain things I can do today, which most you cannot do. I can walk from my house in Omale Estate down to my Wonderlan  in Opebi, I’m talking about three kilometers here but most of you cannot do it. Not because  you don’t have the energy but you simply cannot do it. What I gain by not talking about my personal life is freedom.”
On  Ego Ogbaro’s exit, Lagbaja said, “ Naturally, every person will aspire to grow; you cannot hold unto an employer all your life. If you have a drive in the artistic world, you want to also be an employer, you want to explore your own art. So, it was a natural progression. Ego had to leave. Don’t forget that she was with us for more than 10 years. So, what else do you expect? There was no fight. In fact, I had been encouraging her to do her own songs long before her exit.  If she had stayed, I would have been happy but when she was going I was happy too.”
Lagbaja
“I said, ‘okay, but you have to wait till the end of the year so we can have a party for you’. And so, we celebrated her at our last show before she left. It’s a natural growth; you can’t remain in one place forever. And mind you, when  you leave, you are actually creating a space for somebody else  to come in because my concept is my concept.”
“Ego left at the right time that is how it should be. If the opportunity comes, we would meet somewhere else. Few  weeks ago, I saw Ego at an event  and I invited her on stage to perform alongside my band. Today, she has started her own career. The girls with me today will someday start their own career too,” Lagbaja said.
Lagbaja said his latest album is intended to speak to the conscience of Nigerians. The album has nine tracks and one video. Among the nine tracks are , ‘Knock Knock Knock’, ‘200 Million Mumu (parts one and three)‘, ‘Redemption Song’, ‘Guide Me O’, ‘Thou Great Jehova’ and ‘Omo Jayejaye’, the track with the video.
In shooting the video, the artiste employs the services of Nollywood acts including Racheal Oniga and a host of others. “If you follow my music videos well, you will notice that I always love working with actors and actresses. I have worked with Basketmouth and some others in the past. As a matter of fact, I enjoy working with them because of the flavour they bring into what I am doing,”Lagbaja said
According to the artiste, it is not in his tradition to do singles, but with the release of Knock Knock Knock, the game changed. The album which he says seeks to awaken the consciousness of Nigerians to happenings in their surroundings has nine tracks and one video.
“ The album is a satire, the inspiration comes from my belief that I have to pass a message that contributes to the national discuss. This is not a joke and when it comes to what happens in Nigeria, I think I have a solution. The solution is that we are all mugus and we are contributing to the mess that’s happening here. It is easy to point fingers at leaders but actually, a leader cannot be different from the followers because he was one of us; he came from among us.
The same madness happening at the federal level is happening in the local government. Your neighbour who you knew before is now councilor or chairman, and suddenly, you’re not seeing changes in the environment but you’re seeing changes in him. He gets fatter and we mugus  are grumbling and shouting along as if we are not seeing that the solution lies in the fact that we have to address these ourselves,” he said.

"I was invited to participate in cancer awareness campaign by Waodiva and MTN. They did workshops on cancer, and a lot of survivors attended.

RMD In Fraud Mess; Allegedly Embezzles N50m In Delta State

Popular Nollywood actor turned politician, Richard Mofe Damijo (popularly called RMD), who's the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State has allegedly embezzled N50 million belonging to the ministry, together with the acting General Manager of the state’s Tourism Board, Philo Nkem Ajufo.

Sources in Delta State, including two employees of the Culture Ministry, told our reporter that a former commissioner in the Ministry had requested N50 million to organize the “Delta State Expo 2007.” However, the state government was unable to release the funds that particular year to sponsor the yearly event.By some bizarre twist, the funds were finally released to the ministry’s tourism account in May, 2012.
“As soon as the money arrived, the commissioner said that the ministry could no longer hold the event since six years had elapsed,” said a source within the ministry. “The Honorable Commissioners also argued that Deltans would have forgotten about the event – and therefore the money should not be used for the purpose it was released.”

However, our reporter obtained documents from the Delta State Ministry of Finance stipulating that the N50 million must be spent on the event for which the Culture Ministry applied for it. The warrant was signed by one P.O. Evuojapha on behalf of the state's Commissioner of Finance. The warrant indicated that N35 million of the funds was to go to the Tourism Board.

Our sources disclosed that RMD connived to issue a check of N35 million in the name of Ms. Ajufo who reportedly deposited the sum into her First Bank private account number 3006131619. “Mrs. Ajufo and RMD then shared the money,” one of our sources asserted.

Another government source said, “It is very obvious that the manner the check was issued in the name of the board GM instead of in the name of the board was fraudulent. It portrays an element of fraud.”

Several of our sources depicted Ms. Ajufo as somebody versed in the art of warming up to top politicians in the state and getting her way.

Two sources said Ms. Ajufo used her share of the looted funds to start off a twin duplex building located at No.6 Dunkwu Crescent in Asaba, the state capital. The building is behind Junior Staff quarters and near a Redeemed Christian Church. One source said Ms. Ajufo started the project in June, 2012.

Surprisingly, a source close to Ms. Ajufo told SaharaReporters that the head of the tourism board had denied receiving any of the embezzled funds. “She accused Mr. Mofe Damijo of carting away the whole sum of N50 million even when her account was used to commit the fraud,” said the source.

Meanwhile, Ms. Ajufo’s staff have reportedly lost all patience with her manner of running the board. “The acting GM is very, very corrupt,” said a staffer. “As we talk, apart from her official car, the Tourism Board cannot boast of a single functional car. All the board’s cars are grounded. And in this era of technology, there is no single working computer apart from one in her office – which she doesn’t use. Her office is entitled to N1 million subventions every month, but as soon as the money comes the commissioner and the GM share most of it. The left over is never properly used by the GM.”

When a reporter sent a text to Ms. Ajufo, the embattled GM wrote back,Please, speak with the Honorable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism. Thank you.”

Contacted by phone, Mr. Damijo denied all the allegations, insisting that no such money was released to his ministry at any time. “That matter is a dead matter,” he said. “There was no N50 million released to my ministry.” I run the Ministry with people, the Permanent Secretary and other directors.

Tonto Dike – “If I keep waiting for an Igbo man, I will just end up like Genevieve Nnaji who is eternally single”

This piece was culled from an interview Tonto Dike had recently with a reporter from Punch. Excerpt from the interview:

Interviewer: We just learnt that you will be getting married soon to your new boyfriend who happens to come from Benin, Edo state. Why are so many Nollywood female starts getting snapped up by Benin or men from Edo state?
Tonto Dike: First of all, it is nobody’s business where my fiance is from. That out of the way, yes Benin men are great and very understanding. They are not sitting and judging you unlike an Igbo man that will want to be poke-nosing in everything you do. You make your money and the Edo man is not interested in your personal affairs . “If I keep waiting for an Igbo man, I will just end up like Genevieve Nnaji who is eternally single.”
Tonto dike Debunked the statement above…
In a reaction to the alleged interview, which has spread like harmmatan fire, Tonto reacted this way, “I have never and will never say anything against Genevieve. I will not even interfere in her personal issues. I did not grant such interview.”
Her publicist also denied any such statement from Tonto dike. The publicist said, “after her interview with you (NFC) last year December, Tonto dike has only granted an interview with a soft-sell magazine, which was done about three months ago.
So, I don’t know where that purported interview came from or when such was granted.”

Prostitute Screams, Escapes From Hotel Room Naked After Seeing Size Of Her Client's Manhood

photo
For a woman of the night who operates in the 24-hour booming economy that is Mtwapa, the sight of a foreigner is always inviting, since most are said not to be as tight-fisted as the locals.
And if the foreigner has a car, his premium rises because the hustles of getting into a matatu early in the morning or in the middle of the day are eliminated. Besides, they pay lavishly, including taxi fare, and are not unknown to throw in a decent meal and drinks. Even better is that they could fall in love and sweeten the deal with a wedding ring.

But for one sex worker, the foreigner she met turned out be more than she had bargained for, causing her to flee from lady luck in her birthday suit.
The night had been 'dry' for her so the pick-up had taken place past 6am, meaning that their entrance into the hotel was noticed by the workers streaming in for their daytime shift and those leaving. Being the norm at these hotels, no one paid much attention to her skimpy dress, understanding that for her, it was just another day at the office.

"About 15 minutes after their entrance, we heard a woman screaming from somewhere inside the building," said a front-desk attendant at the hotel.

But before they could act, a naked woman bolted down the stairs and sprinted past the reception screaming, her clothes and shoes in her hands. She did not stop running until she was outside the hotel compound.

"Then a white man came out in his underwear, stood at the reception, looked at the running woman and burst into loud laughter," said the attendant, who had checked-in the tourist the day before. In response to the curious glances from hotel staff, other guests and a few beach boys who were around, he said, 'But I had not even started'," the attendant conferred.

Meanwhile, the woman was in pains to explain what had transpired back in that expensive room to taxi operators outside the hotel. A small crowd had also gathered out of the blue, with the journalistic oriented amongst them using their mobile phones to capture the image for posterity.

"I have been in this business for more than ten years but I have never encountered what I saw inside that room. That man is too 'big' for life!" she said amid gasps of air.

"If I had not run away, I would have been dead within minutes or required stitches to repair the damage. That white men is no joke" she offered as the crowd went wild with laughter.

She, however, had no intention of refunding the tourist, saying she needed to be compensated for 'shock'. "I readily agreed to his offer. I got into his car and we headed for a nice hotel, " said the visibly distraught woman to the tuk-tuk operators who offered her comfort after her ordeal.

Nollywood Actress, Beverly Naya On Collision Course With Omotola, Genevieve

photo
Fast rising Nollywood actress, Beverly Naya hasn’t been around for more than two years in the industry and already she is rubbing shoulders with the very best in the business.
The highly cultured beauty who only started her acting while featuring in Lancelot Imasuen’s “Home in Exile” produced two years ago.
She is billed to slug it with the likes of Omotola, Genevieve Nnaji and Nse Ikpe-Etim  for her role in 2010 movie ‘’Guilty Pleasure” as she is nominated for the Most Stylish Actress honour in the FABS award, holding later this month.
Compared to the other nominees for the award, Beverly is way behind and her only claim to fame is a couple of films like ‘Home In Exile’ and “Weekend Getaway’ where she starred alongside Genevieve Nnaji, Uti Nwachukwu and Ramsey Nouah.
She also made a show of her dazzling beauty in Banky W.’s ‘’Follow You Go’’ video but will these few capers put the odds in her favour? It is a long shot in the dark but one Beverly is hell-bent on taking.
Already, she is not leaving any stone unturned as she is regularly and religiously on social media  campaigning for votes. There is hardly a day without “Hey guys!! I need your support, please vote for me to win FAB’s ‘Most Stylish Actress’ via a link. Luv you guys” banner from her posted on either Twitter or Facebook.
Beverly became so popular recently, no thanks to a rumour being milled around that she is involved in a hot sizzling romance with  Big Brother All Star winner, Uti Nwachukwu after the duo were caught in a compromising position on a couple of occasions.
But the damsel has since dispelled the rumour on Twitter, saying “This Insinuation is laughable..Pls lets not start a rumor…..My boyfriend wasn’t too happy seeing this. "Uti makes me laugh a lot…its always fun hanging out with him and nothing more.”

Aremu Afolayan Opens Up On Relationship With Yoruba Actress, Sikiratu Sindodo

One thing that has distinguished Aremu Afolayan, one of the scions of Ade Love film dynasty, from his other siblings in Nollywood is his reported romance with older women.
photo
One cannot quickly forget his well publicised romance with London-based journalist, Yetunde Bustline some years ago.

While both Aremu and Yetunde were love items, their sizzling romance made different news headlines. Those who claimed to be in the know swore that Aremu is a dude that has special love for dating older women.
Tale-bearers also bragged that apart from dating older women, Aremu loves them (older women) to be rich and ready to spoil him with money.

Just recently, it was rumoured that the handsome actor cum movie producer, Aremu was in a another sizzling romance with the former babe of top Oshodi transporter, MC Oluomo and actor, Kunle Afod, Sinkiratu Sindodo.

Though Aremu has denied any romance between him and Sikiratu, those close to him have argued that both actors are warming their beds.

Speaking with Nigeriafilms.com on the rumoured romance between him and Sikiratu when contacted on phone, Aremu revealed that the only relationship between them is a colleague relationship.

"I have not dated Sikiratu Sindodo. She is my colleague and a friend and that’s all," Aremu stated.

Reacting further, the filmmaker disclosed, "I don’t know how they mean Sikiratu being in the game. I don’t even hear when people say I date someone. I think my relationship with anybody that I date should be my personal thing and concern. I don’t see anybody but myself."

Reps Threaten To Order Okonjo-Iweala’s Arrest

House of Representatives, yesterday, threatened to issue a warrant of arrest against the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, over her refusal to honour invitations from its Committee on Pensions.
Members of the committee also want the Finance Minister to explain her role in the take-over of Police Pension Fund and non-payment of pensions to retired officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force.
Chairman of the Committee on Pension, Ibrahim Kamba, read the decision of the committee after waiting for the minister for several hours without any apology for non-appearance.
He noted that it was obvious that the minister was not ready to appear to explain why the ministry took over Police Pension office without regard to Pension Reform Act.
He said: “We have been inviting the Minister of Finance over the problems of police pension. She has been holding the police pension and several police pensioners have died due to non-payment despite the fact that the National Assembly appropriated money in the 2012 fiscal year.
“Following her refusal, the committee is going to issue a warrant of arrest against the minister if she fails to attend the next meeting.
“We are going to give her a last opportunity. She has no right to neglect the summons of the committee. Many former IGs have not been paid. Sunday Ehindero and Sunday Adewusi and DIG Akeredolu have not been listed due to the take-over by the minister.
“We want to make the reason for our action clear to Nigerians. We hate playing with peoples lives. We have received some petitions from the police that many police pensioners are not paid.”

11-Year-Old Girl Gang-Raped By 20 Men: Lawyer Claims It Was Her Fault

A Texas defense attorney used some controversial words to describe an 11-year-old girl allegedly gang raped by 20 men and teenaged boys.
During wrap-up testimony on Tuesday, Steve Taylor, who represents Jared Len Cruse on charges that he joined in the repeated rape and sexual assault of the now-13-year-old girl during a 3-month span in 2010, likened her to a spider who lured the suspects. He said she was "the reason" that the encounters happened, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The Houston Chronicle reported Taylor's exchange with former Cleveland Police Sgt. Chad Langdon, who was on the witness stand:
"Like the spider and the fly. Wasn't she saying, 'Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly?'" Taylor asked.
"I wouldn't call her a spider," Langdon replied. "I'd say she was just an 11-year-old girl."
"I hope nothing like this ever happens to your two teenage sons," Taylor snapped back.
The metaphor didn't help however, as Cruse was found guilty of aggravated sex assault today, ABC News reports.
In the courtroom on Tuesday, the unidentified victim reportedly said "yes sir" when asked if she had been a "willing participant" in the acts, but Langdon testified that she can't legally give consent for a sexual encounter due to her age.
Testimony in the case of 20-year-old Cruse wrapped up in Liberty in one day, after he declined to testify. He's already serving a an eight-year sentence on unrelated convictions for aggravated robbery and assault.
The emotional case began after Cruse, Eric McGowen and more than a dozen other men allegedly recorded themselves having sex with the victim.
Two adults, 22-year-old Isaiah Ross and Marcus Porchia, 28, were slapped with 15-year prison terms earlier this year. The six juveniles who pleaded guilty in the case received suspended seven-year prison terms. McGowen received a sentence of 99 years. Most of the defendants -- many of whom have individual trials -- face charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Cruse was found guilty of aggravated sex assault today, ABC News reports.

PUNCH Metro had reported on June 25, 2012, that Balogun also known as Small Jpron, was declared wanted following a gang-related violence between Shaggy Boys and Downtown Boys which left at least five people dead in Ilaje, Bariga.

Balogun, who also goes by the pseudonym, Asarailu, which means death in Arabic, is said to be the deputy gang leader of Downtown Boys and a member of a sect, Eiye Confraternity also known as EFCC Boys.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Balogun was arrested on Bawahala Street near Pedro Police Station on Saturday.

A reliable police source narrated the circumstances that led to Balogun’s arrest to our correspondent.

He said, “On Friday, around 11:30am, Yusuf Adebowale, a resident of Somolu, took a commercial motorcycle to FirstBank branch in Fadeyi to withdraw N100, 000. As he was withdrawing the money from ATM, the okada rider, later identified as Dare, informed Balogun and his gang.

“As Adebowale left the bank, just a few metres away, Balogun and three other gang members attacked  him and stole the money, phone and a wristwatch.

“Adebowale reported the matter at Onipanu Police Station and also told youths in the area about his ordeal. Less than an hour later, Dare, the okada rider, was apprehended by residents and taken to the  police station where he confessed.

“Later that night, he led us to Balogun’s hideout but Balogun was not around. One of the policemen, identified as Abu, however released Dare without authorisation.”

Our correspondent learnt that the following day, around 11:30am, Balogun and four others allegedly went to rob residents of Bawahala Street and a woman alerted the police.

The police source said, “In broad daylight, Balogun and four gang members, heavily armed, went to rob. We received a distress call and policemen headed by Inspector Smart, rushed down to the scene.

“The four others escaped but Balogun was arrested and taken to Pedro Police Station where he identified himself as Ibrahim Oriyomi Folarin.”

Our correspondent learnt that the policemen could not identify Balogun even though the police had declared him wanted. However, scores of residents stormed the police station and quickly identified him.

It was learnt that there was pandemonium at the station as residents who had fallen victims to Balogun and his gang asked the police to hand him over.

Youths in the area were said to have brought a tyre and petrol which they threatened to set the suspect ablaze.

But the Special Anti-Robbery Squad took Balogun away and this restored normalcy to the station.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone.

She said Balogun had been on police wanted list for a long time.

“I just spoke to the officer in charge of SARS and he confirmed the incident to me. He said the suspect (Balogun) is accused of murders, attempted murders and robberies,” she said.

Alleged Serving NYSC Member Apprehended For Armed Robbery In Kwara State

The National Youth Service Corps scheme was initiated by the military government of Gen. Yakubu Gowon in the aftermath of the Nigerian civil war – to foster peace, national reconciliation, development, re-orientation and forge bonds of friendship among others. So, it is a thing of shock and disgrace to the ideals of the scheme when anyone of its member is found wanting in any area not less, armed robbery!

Barely three days after four undergraduate students of Uniport were meted a jungle justice treatment for alleged theft of mobile phones, laptops etcetera, a member of the National Youths Service Corps serving in Kwara State and two other men (names withheld by the police), have been arrested for their alleged involvement in armed robbery.
The corps member was said to be serving at Ira, a town near Igbaja in Ifelodun Local Government Council of the state.
The three suspects were apprehended by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State, Mr. Olufemi Fabode, confirmed the arrests. He added that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad had commenced investigation into the incident.
The Kwara State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Ezinne Ezekwe, said she could not confirm the involvement of the corps member.
“I am still expecting the Commissioner of Police to brief me on the incident officially before I can make any comment,” she said.

“He came back from work and told me he was hungry and I prepared food for him but when I got there, his door was shut and when I knocked he told me to take the food back and bring it later. When I took the food to him later, his door was open and when I knocked he did not answer. When I went in I saw him lying naked on his bed,” the source said.
Ofem who hails from Mkapani in Yakkur Local Government Area is alleged to be fond of having s*x with girls never minding he had eaten or not.
“When she came she greeted us but we did not take particular interest in her and when she came out of his room we did not say anything to her because we did not suspect anything unusual until his town girl brought him food,” a neighbor said about the girl who slept with the victim.
“People from his office came here and disturbed the whole street but they could not arrest anybody because the girl went away with his phone,” the neighbour said.
The Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Calabar, Mrs Nkoyo Bassey when contacted for comments said: “The man was enjoying himself so that is strictly his personal responsibility and not the Corps’. Have a good day”.
One of the deceased’s colleagues at the Operations unit of the Corps where he worked before his death said there are efforts to track down the lady “but for now we have not arrested anybody”

Weird: Unborn twin protrudes from sister's back

A mystery as a large mass grows on girl's back which contained a breast and an arm with two fingers. Doctors said it was part of an identical twin that had failed to develop and was enveloped in her.

The case was reported in a British journal by doctor based in Beijing, China. The case also came to the attention of the medical world after it was studied by Professor Baogan Peng, of the General Hospital of Armed Police Force in Beijing.
Doctors were astonished after an 11-year-old schoolgirl was admitted to a hospital in China with a third arm sprouting out of her back. Research revealed that part of an identical twin had failed to develop and had been enveloped into the body of its sister. Further investigation found it consisted of a breast and an arm which included a shoulder blade and two fingers.
However, the 11-year-old Chinese girl has a malformed parasitic twin on her back. Prof Peng said: 'Based on physical examination and imaging findings, a diagnosis of fetus in fetu was made preoperatively.'
Fetus in fetu is a condition where the malformed foetus is found in the body of its twin. The foetus is found in the abdomen in 80 per cent of cases, there are also reports of it occurring in the skull. So, this is the first time that is has been reported in the back.

Lagos civil servant arraigned over alleged N18.3m land fraud

A female official of the Lagos State Lands Bureau, Mrs. Omolara Onamade, was on Monday arraigned at a Lagos High Court in Ikeja for allegedly swindling prospective land owners of N18.3 million. The
News Agency of Nigeria reports that Onamade, 41, was arraigned before Justice Lateefat Okunnu on 44 counts of stealing, forgery and uttering.
Counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mrs. Atinuke Daramola, said the defendant, who resides at 5th Ave., B Close, House 9, Festac Town, Lagos, committed the alleged fraud between 2009 and 2010.
Daramola alleged that Onamade collected various sums of money from unsuspecting members of the public under the pretext of securing lands allocated by the Lagos State Government for them.
She said the defendant had promised to secure plots of land for the complainants, who included Pastor Olufemi Fadeyi and Mr. Rashid Adewale.
According to her, Onamade had promised that plots of land would be allocated to them at Fortune Garden Residential Scheme, Ogudu and Mosareju Aradagun Residential Scheme in Badagry.
Daramola further alleged that the defendant forged letters of land allocation purportedly signed by the Executive Secretary, Land Use Allocation Committee, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, which were issued in favour of the complainants.
She said Onamade also forged Lagos State Government revenue receipts purportedly issued by the Lagos State Lands Bureau to the complainants as confirmation that their applications for lands had been approved by the governor.
Daramola said the alleged offences contravened Sections 390,467 and 468 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State 2003.
The defendant, however, pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges and the judge granted her bail in the sum of N15 million with two sureties in like sum.
Okunnu directed that the sureties must be resident in Lagos, while one of them must own a landed property.
She also ordered that the defendant should report to the EFCC office once a month during the duration of the matter.

A Kaduna Chief Magistrates' Court 13, on Wednesday ordered the arrest of an Army officer, Lt. Col. Azinge Williams, over the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl. The order was issued following the failure
of the accused to appear before the court, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The court had on November 25 ordered that the accused be duly served, and according to the court's registrar the summon was served through the Commandant of the Nigeria Defence Academy.
The commandant, however, in a letter to the court, returned the summon, claiming that the accused had been transferred to Benin.
Counsel to the complainant, Mr. Dyagas Ezekeil, decried the manner in which the Nigerian Army was handling the issue, urging the court to compel it to trace the accused and serve him properly.
The lawyer also prayed the court to issue a bench warrant against the colonel "so that he can face the law."
Williams was accused of raping the girl on October 22 in Kaduna after luring her to his house on the pretext of sending her on an errand.
The offence contravened Sections 272, 282, 285, 327 and 397 of the Penal Code.
Senior Magistrate Sa'adatu Sambo issued a bench warrant against the accused and said the order should be served through the Chief of Army Staff and the Commandant of the NDA.
Sambo adjourned the case till December 5, for continuation of hearing. (NAN)

Top Five Reasons Why Nigerian Women Cheat and How Men Can Help Them

Everything on this earth has a reason and every question has an answer. Similarly women infidelity has not one but a number of reasons. Situations, husbands, boyfriends, revenge, pleasure, dissatisfaction, insecurity, and many other such reasons can get women to cheat.
1. Loneliness is one big reason
Most of the women are taken for granted. If a woman leaves her job and sits at home for her husband and her kids it is her responsibility, which is not appreciated by anyone. No word of love or appreciation makes the woman feel she is taken for granted and this taken for granted feeling created differences between a couple and gives birth to loneliness. This loneliness can create attraction and feelings for another man, leading to infidelity.
2. Physically and emotionally not satisfied
Studies have proven that comparatively to men more women fall into an extramarital affair, when not physically satisfied by their partners. The above statement means women have more tendencies of falling into an extramarital relationship, if not physically satisfied with their married life. Like a men even women made loveual desires that need to be fulfilled. And hence when a few women are not happy with the physical part of their married life they do fall into extramarital affairs.

Phone Séx Crashes Another Nollywood Actress’s Marriage

Actress Gloria Mba loses husband to Nollywood  makeup artiste Thelma Ozy Nwosu. “Thelma was having phone sex with my husband!”
This is another classic movie from the stables of Nollywood but this time the story and characters are real life and the story has branches. Sit back and enjoy the premiere of the movie titled “husband snatching na crime?”

Here it goes;
Thelma is a pretty make up artiste in Nollywood and the ex girl friend of comedian and online radio personality Steve Onu aka Yaw.
A year ago there was buzz online and in Nollywood that Thelma dipped her fingers into actor Segun Arinze’s marriage whilst in a serious relationship with Yaw.
Insiders confirmed it took prayers and fasting to rebuke Thelma out of Segun’s marriage. This led to Yaw dumping Thelma and moving on with his heart.
Well, Thelma is in the news again and this time she has crashed the marriage of her best friend, Actress Gloria Mba whose marriage was contracted to Houston based Leo Kanu on 27/03/11.
Gloria announced via her Face book handle that her marriage had crashed.
Insiders squeal that Thelma and Leo who have been having phone sex, met in Berlin(Germany) and consummated the affair. The trip was all expenses covered by Leo,the smitten lover boy.
When Gloria was contacted on Sunday November 25,2011 and after asking her questions she cut the call after denying that her marriage was crashed. I called her back and rephrased the questions and sighing deeply she opened up.
“Yes my marriage is over and Yes Thelma is  part of the reason it crashed”
We asked her what happened and what role Thelma played in the crash.
“I read Thelma and Leo’s mails to each other and Thelma doesn’t know I know they are dating. I bumped into his inbox. We have our passwords and I just wanted to check, I never bothered to check all this while out of trust but I just got curious and checked and got the shocker. ”
We asked her to copy us the mail and if she had confronted her friend and her response was “there is no need to confront Thelma when the marriage is already over and no I cannot copy you the mail. I just want to move on. My ex husband’s friend asked me to confront them both but there’s no need because it will change nothing. I took Thelma like my own sister and we were so close.”
To be fair, we called Thelma and here’s what went down.
‘Thelma we heard you crashed your friend Gloria Mba’s marriage.
Her Response:
“Oh my goodness this is not real.(Laughing) Is her marriage crashed? Has she called me? I know her husband and I was at their wedding. Oh my God”
“Thelma we heard you have been mailing Gloria’s husband and having phone sex with him. Is this true? Are you dating him?”
Thelma dropped the phone and when I called her back, but she refused to pick up.

Insider job suspected in SARS attack

Less than 48 hours after the embarrassing attack and release of Boko Haram detainees allegedly by their members, information has continued to turn in that there must have been an insider job in the act. Sources within and outside the police formation who spoke in anger but would not like their identities disclosed, questioned why the police would be overpowered in such a way and in a neighbourhood where there were so many security agency offices.
“There are many security outfits around the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) head office. I worked in the police for 32 years before retirement. In fact, I worked many years in Abuja and everyone that knows the vicinity would always wonder why the attack was carried out without re-enforcement from the Police Force Headquarters that is off the road where SARS has its office.
“Moreover, these high powered attacks are not planned overnight. So how did the arms get into Abuja without anybody detecting them? How did the attackers drive all the way to the place they struck without anyone spotting or stopping them? They struck and left unimpeded. It really sounds ridiculous, so the high command of the police should ask themselves questions and know who among them must have let out information that made the attackers head straight to the cell where Boko Haram suspects were locked to release them.”
“The police high command should be questioned on what actually happened. We should be informed on those big boys in the force from the Force Headquarters that have sympathy for Boko Haram. And this is not the first time the Boko Haram is beating the police to the game inside Abuja and right under their nose. June last year, they bombed the police head office, some months after, sometime in October, the suspect in the Madalla church bombing on Christmas day escaped. Since he was recaptured, we have not heard what happened to him.
So the Federal Government should ask the Inspector-General what is happening. Do we attribute this to laxity or sabotage?” Another source, a serving police officer that also pleaded anonymity expressed concern over the incident and wondered why the nation’s intelligence had remained unimpressive that terrorists attack at will and escape unhurt. In a phone chat with the Executive Director of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), Mr. Clement Nwankwo, he also expressed worries that “the government has not done much to disabuse the minds of the citizens that it is almost incapable of handling the security challenge.
“If attackers, no matter who they are could storm the SARS head office the manner they did and freed detainees as we heard, that raises the fear that any day they feel like taking on the State House nothing will stop them.” Another source blamed the police for not heeding the warning from better intelligence gathering sources.
On “Thursday last week, the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Terence McCulley warned that although the Boko Haram had not struck on anything belonging to them or the international community, but US still remained on high alert for their attack any time. “In the past, most times they (international intelligence) warned of imminent attacks, they happened.
The attacks on the UN Building, Force Headquarters, Madalla Church, and so many others were forewarned by international intelligence, and Nigeria with poor intelligence never took precaution. Now, it happened three days inside Jaji, a military formation and just some hours later, it was at the police headquarters. This is really discouraging.”

Mother Raised Her Daughter As A Boy For Two Years, Even Deceiving The Child's Father

A mother brought up her baby girl as a boy for two years, deceiving even the child's own father, it was reported today.
The Brazilian woman convinced everyone her daughter was a boy after altering her birth certificate while in hospital and christening her 'Samuel'.
She was finally found out when the girl's aunt became suspicious and managed to peek under the two year old's nappy.
The mother reportedly claimed she did it because she had been abused as a child and didn't want her daughter to suffer in the same way because she was a girl.
She told how after being discharged from hospital she scratched out the tick on the 'female' box on the baby's birth certificate and marked 'male' instead. She then managed to dupe staff at a registry office in Goiania, central Brazil, and the girl was registered as male.
Brazil's Record TV reported how the mother convinced even the baby's father and grandparents that she was a boy. It is not known if the woman lives with the girl's father. For two year she kept up the deception and treated 'Samuel' as a boy, dressing her in boys' clothes, giving her boys' toys and cutting her hair short.
The girl's paternal grandmother told Record TV she never once imagined that her grandchild wasn't a little boy.
She said: "I didn't suspect a thing. For me, he was a boy. Why would I think anything different? "It was an aunt who had doubts about Samuel's sex, but she didn't tell the rest of the family.
She asked to hold Samuel at a family party and managed to look. "It was a huge shock for everyone. Now I have to get used to the fact I don't have a grandson any more, I have a granddaughter."
Social services in Goiania today (wed) confirmed that the girl has been placed in foster care while a children's judge studies the case

2 Prophetesses Sold Day-Old Baby For N3m

Two prophetesses have been arrested by the police in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State for stealing and selling day-old baby girl, the child of one Grace, 23, from Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area of the state. The arrested prophetesses, Loreta Emmanuel and Sylva were from Owerri Imo State.
Daily Sun gathered that a man, Grace said was her boyfriend, got her impregnated, promising to marry her. However, Grace, who dropped out of secondary school due to her father’s ill-health, was disappointed when her boyfriend reneged on his promise and she became confused.
As she had nobody to help see her through the pregnancy, she contemplated dragging the man to the welfare department in Aba so that he could be compelled to take care of her until she put to bed. Grace was said to have intimated Loreta, a mother of seven who lived in the same area with her of her plans.
But Loreta advised her to the contrary and instead told Grace that she would take her to a prayer ministry where, with prayers, her boyfriend would have a change of mind. The girl bought into the idea and in August last year, Loreta took her to one prayer house at Umuocho village, Osusuamaukwa in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state, owned by Prophetess Sylva.
Grace stayed in the prayer house for months without her prayers being answered and without also being allowed by the women to go home. They were deceiving her with false prophecy that God revealed to them that she would die if she decided to go home and give birth outside the ministry.
Grace out of fear that she might die decided to stay with them. When it was about time for Grace to deliver, Sylva took her to their home and introduced her to one Apostolic Church in Ekeakpara in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area where she attended occasionally. Grace was delivered of a baby girl on January 2 at the Apostolic Church and hours later she was brought back to Sylva’s house together with the baby.
But the unexpected happened the following day when Grace went to take her birth. Before then, another woman, who was later identified as Ijeoma, a nurse, had visited them. Grace told Daily Sun that as she came out of the bathroom, she saw the two prophetesses and the nurse carrying the baby and were about moving into a waiting car and when she enquired where they were taking her child to, they told her that the baby was very sick and wanted to take her to where she would be treated.
“I wanted to go with them but Loreta said I should stay behind and have some rest since it had not been long I put to bed. When I insisted, she said she had seven children and that she would not do anything bad to me, saying I was like a child to her. With these words and being somebody I knew, I stayed back.”
After a while, according to Grace, who wanted the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and other Related Matters (NAPTIP) to come into the matter since she had no one to stand for her, “Loreta and Sylva came back to the house without the baby and when I asked them about the child, they told me that the sickness became worse and she died.
“As I did not believe their story, I demanded for the corpse, but they kept telling me cock and bull story and after putting much pressure on them they admitted that the baby was somewhere, saying I should pay them N1.5 million which they claimed was the amount they spent in taking care of me all the while I was pregnant. “I told them if that was the case, they should bring back the baby I suffered so much to have and after a while, that I will rally round and get some money to pay them. But they said I was joking and threatened to deal with me if I ask them about the baby again because they knew I had nobody that could come for me.”
The matter was reported to the police then and the two women became evasive. They could not be arrested as both of them parked out from their houses and relocated their ministries. While Loreta parked out from her No. 42 Amos Street to Okohia Street and relocated her ministry to Umuode in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government where she was arrested, Sylva on her own parked out from Ekeakpara and relocated her ministry to Abala in Obingwa Local Government.
However, luck ran out on the two women when following a fresh complaint by Grace, the police in Aba, led by one Rotimi with other security agencies, arrested the two prophetesses who confessed to the crime. They were said to have admitted selling the baby to a lady in Port Harcourt, Rivers State with the help of Ijeoma, the nurse who was still at large, for N300, 000.
While a senior police officer said the suspects would be transferred to the SCID, Umuahia, Grace was worried that transferring the case to Umuahia would create a problem for her and probably make the women go scot free since she said she did not have the money to be attending the matter at the state capital. She urged NAPTIP to intervene immediately and work with the police to help her recover her baby.

5,000 Dollars Stolen In Chris Oyakhilome's Vault, Oyakhilome's Close Ally Fingered

Ugly rumours emanating from the Believers Love World (BLW) popularly known as Christ Embassy headquarters, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos is more than shocking if it is anything to go by.
Impeccable sources exclusively revealed to Enquirer Magazine that the church headquarters, which is the venue of their annual International Conference IPPC, is currently being shaken to its root due to the $5,000 US dollars that was cleverly stolen from the Central Finance Department on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

One of the staff members who pleaded anonymity said Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, his serving pastors and other key members are still shocked at the disappearance of the money which was supposed to be in the custody of the Finance Department.

"These people will never change! They keep soiling our image, imagine now that we have international  delegates around is when such terrible thing is happening," the angry church member lamented.

The source further revealed that the money was mysteriously transferred from the Finance Department without following due process or accounted for and accusing fingers have directed to some of the trusted hands of Pastor Chris as investigations have began.

"The rumour is that the atrocity must have been perpetuated by one of Pastor’s most trusted hands who’s a senior staff of the department and that is why members of the finance department are doing everything possible to keep it under check until the programme ends," he added.

We also gathered that the Finance department is now being extra careful as this is not the first case of alleged theft since the programme started. We promise to keep you posted on this as efforts to get an official reaction on the story proved abortive as at press time.

29-Year-Old Man Finds Married Couple Having Sex In The Bush, Fondles Wife's Breasts As Punishment?

A 29-year-old cheeky villager, who fondled a married woman's breasts in the presence of her husband, has been ordered to perform 210 hours of community service for indecent assault.
Stanley Siazanga of Kalonga village in Siabuwa was convicted of the charge despite his denials when he appeared before Binga resident magistrate Stephen Ndlovu last week.

However, Siazanga claimed he fondled the woman's breasts as punishment after finding the couple having sex by the roadside. But the couple dismissed the claim as a lie, adding they had a valid marriage which was solemnised in 2009.

Prosecutor Bruce Maphosa told the court that on 5 October at 9pm, the complainant Dinah Rice (23) of Binga Training Centre and her husband Thabani Moyo were taking a walk along a bush path from Govera area last night when they met Siazanga.

Siazanga switched on his torch and flashed it on Rice's face, quizzing her where she was going at night. Moyo interjected and asked Siazanga why he was harassing his wife. Siazanga then reached out for Rice's breasts and menacingly fondled her while pushing Moyo away.

Moyo sought the intervention of his brother who was close by, prompting Siazanga to flee from the scene. The couple later reported the incident to police, leading to Siazanga's arrest that same night.

The Manatee County, Fla. couple were having sex on Monday afternoon, Davis told deputies, and after he climaxed, Gonzalez got angry and started scratching and hitting him.
The police report states that Davis had scratches near his eye and nose. Davis also told investigators that Gonzalez has issues from her past and "goes off" on him frequently.
Gonzalez, who the report states was uncooperative and belligerent during her arrest, was charged with felony domestic battery.
This isn't the first time sex has led to violence in the great state of Florida. In September, a woman was arrested near Port Charlotte after pulling a gun on a man while they were having sex in a moving car.

Sack 50% Of Civil Servants - Sanusi To FG

photo
Central Bank of Nigeria  Governor Mallam Sanusi Lamido on Tuesday lamented the high cost of servicing the nation’s  civil service and called on the Federal Government to fire at least 50 per cent of its entire workforce.
Sanusi, in his presentation at the  Second Annual Capital Market Committee Retreat in Warri, Delta State,  said the country  spends  70 per cent of its earnings on salaries and entitlements of civil servants.
He argued that having the Federal Government’s staff strength reduced by half would free up capital for infrastructure development in the country and buoy the economy.
The CBN governor had in a lecture  last year claimed that 25 per cent of the overheads of the Federal Government budget went to the National Assembly.
“Twenty five per cent of the overhead of the Federal Government budget goes to National Assembly. I have figures from the office of budget for the year 2010. Total government overhead is N536, 268,49, 280. Total overhead of the National Assembly is N136,259,768, 112 which is exactly 25.1 per cent of Federal Government overhead. The overhead of the National Assembly as a percentage of the Federal Government budget in 2009 was 19. 87 and in 2008 was 14.19”, he had  said.
Sanusi, at the retreat on Tuesday, advocated a more compact and less expensive system of government that would reduce overhead costs.
He said, “At the moment 70 per cent of Federal Government’s revenue goes for payment of salaries and entitlement of civil servants, leaving 30 per cent for development of 167 million Nigerians. That means that for every naira government earns, 70 kobo   is consumed by civil servants.
“You have to fire half of the civil service because the revenue  of the government  is supposed to be for 167 million Nigerians. Any society where government spends 70 per cent of its revenue on its civil service has a problem. It is unsustainable.
“The various tiers of government should cut down their recurrent expenditure and use the fund to provide basic infrastructure like schools, hospital, etc.

Just Days After His Release, Court Orders Re-arrest Of Pharmacist Over Cynthia’s Murder

A Yaba Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday ordered the re-arrest of one of the pharmacists, Orji Osita, suspected of alleged involvement in the murder of Miss Cynthia Osokogu, who was murdered in a hotel at Festac town, Lagos on July 22.
The pharmacists and his colleague, Maduakor Chukwunonso, were earlier released from custody last Wednesday on the order of a High Court sequel to a ruling delivered by Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo.
The Judge ordered their release based on a DPP advice dated November 1, issued by the Ministry of Justice, and an affidavit of response filed by a counsel from the ministry exonerating the two pharmacists and two others from blame over Cynthia’s death.
However, there was a mild drama in court yesterday, between the prosecution and the defence teams, leading to arguments over the new advice, dated November 16 from the same office of the DPP, which in turn found Osita culpable.
The moment the case was called, presiding Magistrate P. A. Adekomaya disclosed that there was a new advice from the DPP’s table, which indicted one of the pharmacists, Osita, while Maduakor Chukwunonso, Gideon Okechukwu and Ezeaka Chinonso, earlier freed in the November1 advice, were unconditionally discharged and acquitted.
He subsequently ordered the re-arrest of the third defendant (Orji Osita).
Cynthia Osokogu was murdered on July 22 by friends she met on Facebook at a hotel in Festac where her drink was reportedly drugged before she was strangled to death

Nurse reveals the top 5 regrets people make on their deathbed

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives. People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learnt never to underestimate someone’s capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them.
When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:
1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.
It is very important to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.

5 Reasons Why Women Have Affairs

There can be little other news that is more devastating to man, than to discover that his wife has cheated on him and has been having an affair with another man. The very thought of another man sexually penetrating his wife, or his wife enthusiastically giving oral sex to her new lover can make the jilted husband feel sick to the stomach for days, even weeks on end.
Unfortunately, an increasing number of men have been contacting us here at The Modern Man, trying to seek answers to the questions, “Why did my wife have an affair? Why did she cheat on me? What causes women to have affairs? What did I do so wrong to deserve it? ” So, I’m going to share my advice here in a dedicated article on why women have affairs.
The Rules of the Game Have Changed
Relationships are not like how they used to be in the early 1900s or even a few decades ago, for that matter. Today’s women are constantly being bombarded with TV sitcoms and Hollywood movies telling them that if they are unhappy, they should get a divorce or have an affair. Unlike in the past, a woman isn’t surrounded by a society that is telling her, or even forcing her to remain married no matter what. A woman in 1900 for example, would feel like the “scum of the Earth” for committing such a disloyal act as having an affair. However, when it comes to women of today’s generation, unless her man is able to create and maintain the right relationship dynamic, she will often act on what she believes to be valid reasons for an affair and she will feel fairly comfortable doing it.
At The Modern Man, we believe that if you get married, you should stay married. Marriage isn’t something you “try,” it’s something you do for real. It’s for keeps. If there are problems in your relationship, you should work to fix them rather than giving up. In our opinion, affairs are never justifiable. If a relationship is unrecoverable and you absolutely have to break up, both people should, out of common decency, maturity and respect for each other, wait until that is done before they find someone new. However, to avoid an affair or break up even happening in the first place, here at The Modern Man we teach men how to create and maintain the right relationship dynamic, so affairs never become “necessary” for a woman. It is much easier to avoid an affair occurring in the first place, than to try and save a devastated relationship after one has happened.
Here are some of the reasons why a woman
